This video is aimed at parents of kindergarteners and second year students who have mastered the snake game and the nines layout decimal system lessons. Miss Brittany will show you how to teach your child simple addition starting with unit beads and gradually increasing the difficulty until you are adding with numerals into the thousands.
All of the materials used in this video are DIY made from common household items - including the equation cards which you can write yourself using markers and paper. However, if you’d like to print out pre-made static addition cards, we've created color coded equations for you here: Static Addition Printable.pdf
IMPORTANT: If your child is ready for addition beyond the units family (or one's place) be sure to revisit this blog post about how to teach the decimal system before moving on to bigger addition! You can find the nines layout printable here: Large Numeral Cards 1 - 9,000.pdf
